UAE exempts COVID-19 vaccine volunteers from swab tests, allows travel for volunteers across all emirates without restrictions

Volunteers of the UAE’s inactivated COVID-19 vaccine trials are now exempted from doing swab tests in the country.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) announced the new measure that benefits all volunteers to skip any non-trial virus tests.

‘What’s great about this is that anyone who gets the vaccine will be free to move around the country without the need for a PCR test,” said His Excellency Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi.

Each volunteer can use the Al Hosn App to identify themselves to benefit from the exemptions during all stages of the trials.

“After having the first dose of the vaccine, we felt no side effects at all. In order to conclude the scientific research phase and to progress to taking the vaccine to market, we need around 15,000 volunteers,” said Al Hamed.
