Some mountainous parts in the north-western regions of Saudi Arabia witnessed heavy snowfall on the morning of January 10, with the temperature dropping below zero degrees Celsius.
The highlands of Dahr Mountains and Jabal Al-Lowz in Tabuk Province were blanketed by large quantities of snow, shocking residents and many tourists who have witnessed the weather phenomenon.
Other areas that experienced snowfall included Al-Lowz rural Center, Al-Abyad Valley (Al-Wadi Al-Abyad), Wadhil, Al-Uluw, Al-Mahraq and Maklaha.
The Kingdom’s meteorology office urged residents to keep warm and advised them to refrain from going to secluded places covered in snow to prevent unforeseen disasters.
Meanwhile, Arab News reported that the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection also projected rain and thunderstorms over Madinah, the Northern Borders, Ha’il, and Al-Jawf.
