Abu Dhabi now allows Kosher Food across hotels

Hotels across Abu Dhabi have been instructed to allot a space for Kosher food to be served in food and beverage outlets.

Circular 65/2020 from the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism mandates that food should be available for all visitors and tourists. With the recent agreement between UAE and Israel, the country anticipates and an influx of visitors from Israel, the majority of whom are Jewish that could only consume Kosher food as it conforms to their dietary regulations.

“Please note that all hotel establishments are advised to include Kosher food options on room service menus and at all food and beverage outlets in their establishment,” read the circular.

It also notes that hotels should seek Kosher certification for handling Kosher meals and to designate an area for their kitchen exclusive for Kosher food preparation.

All Kosher menu items would also need a clear and visible label/reference with a recognizable symbol that would denote ‘Kosher’ as per the required certification and guidelines.
