Korean national wows netizens after earning college degree major in Filipino

A Korean national won the hearts of Filipino netizens after she finished her college with a degree in Filipino.

Kim Jeeyon has finished her Bachelor of Arts degree major in Filipino in Busan University, South Korea.

Her story caught the attention of netizens after University of Philippines (UP) professor, Jovy Peregrino, congratulated her on Facebook.

In her Facebook post, Kim said she is happy to have received greetings from netizens.

“Nakatanggap po ako ng maraming pagbati sa aking pagtatapos. kaya masaya po ako ngayon. Ikinararangal ko po (heart emoticons).”

Kim stayed for two months in Bulacan back in 2015. Her fond memories of the Philippines convinced her to take up this course, she told ABS CBN News.

She returned to the country as a visiting student in UP Diliman, where he met Peregrino as her professor.

“All people I met in the Philippines are so nice and kind… I would not succeed to finish my studies without their help,” Kim told ABS CBN News.

Given the chance, she said she would love to work in the Philippines too.
