The Filipino Communicators Collective holds first ever townhall meeting

Armed with the purpose of using the power of communications to rewrite the Overseas Filipino narrative, the Filipino Communicators Collective held its first ever townhall meeting last May 30 at Rove Trade Centre in Dubai. The gathering saw some of the UAE’s most brilliant and accomplished media and communications practitioners discuss the Collective’s vision and forward plans, which include upskilling programs, one-on-one mentorships, brand awareness campaigns, and networking initiatives.

“This is an amazing start to what is going to be a very exciting journey for the Collective,” says FCC founder, Nicholo Jallores. “Shifting mindsets and updating old notions about the Filipino expat potential is an extremely tall order. It’s so encouraging to see just how many of us are ready, willing, and able to support the cause not just in principle, but in practice.”

The Filipino Communicators Collective is a nearly 200-strong group of UAE-based, Filipino professionals who have achieved notable success in the spheres of Marketing, Advertising, Broadcasting, Branding, PR, and Content Creation. Bound by a strong sense of shared destiny, a culture of uncompromising excellence, and profound love for the Philippines, FCC aims to put Filipino talent in the forefront of the region’s media and communications industry and achieve heightened representation and increased visibility in the UAE’s ever-growing cultural landscape.

With numerous learning opportunities, campaigns, and events in the pipeline, FCC’s future is looking bright, boisterous, and busy. “Key to our success is making sure that we do not only build the right momentum, but also aim our sights in the right direction,” says Danelle Ruth Palang, FCC Founding Member and Admin. “This is why the townhall meeting figured so highly in our list of priorities. We all needed to be aligned in our purpose and vision, because the only we way we can smash the objectives we have set for the Collective is through close collaboration. And if the success of the townhall is any indication, the FCC members are in for an amazing journey, indeed!”
