Preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai are underway and the team behind what would be the biggest event of the decade seeks to hire several individuals fit for the following positions.

Associate – Venue Management

The main responsibilities of this position will include:

– Support all team members in daily administrative tasks;

– Lead on all administrative tasks and support all team members in the coordination and delivery of the Integrated Delivery Workshops (IDW);

– Support the team in relationship management with key internal stakeholders;

– Assist with updates to the Venue Management programme milestones, weekly reporting, procurement plans, risk register, issues and action log and presentations;

Skills

2+ years’ Administrative experience as well as:

– A Bachelor’s Degree;

– Excellent organization and communication skills;

– Excellent time-management, computer and administrative skills;

– Proficient in the preparation of complex PowerPoint presentations;

– Proficient in the creation of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

Editor (English) – Communications

Main responsibilities of the role include:

– The Editor will write/edit communication materials including press releases, briefing notes, opinion articles, speeches, web stories and other articles at the request of the Editor-in-Chief (English) for local, regional and/or international media distribution;
– The Editor will identify stories within the Expo organization and Expo stakeholders and develop them, including briefing and/or pitching notes for media;

Skills

6+ years’ experience in a similar role, as well as:

– A degree in communications or creative/arts related field;
– Fluent in English;
– 6+ years’ experience in a similar role;
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
– Strong interpersonal skills;
– Strong planning and organization skills;

Manager – Venue

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

– Manage venue planning teams in ensuring all operations are integrated and striving for excellence in delivering seamless operations;

– Support in the development of policies and procedures specific to the Venue Management Functional Area;

– Create operational efficiencies through innovative and integrated processes and service design;

Skills

6+ years experience in a senior role working on a previous major event program or leisure attraction with specific experience related to Venue Management and putting the Guest Experience at the heart of decision making and service design.

– A Bachelor’s Degree;

– Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;

– Program or project manager experience supporting large complex projects;

– Knowledge across all key event operational functions, understanding the Venue Operations dependencies with the other operational departments;

Manager – Specialized Vehicles

The main responsibilties of this role will include:

– Manage the inventory of the specialized vehicles (e.g. golf carts), and the sign in and sign out process;

– Inspect, diagnose and ensure any repair, mechanical defects or failures are rectified in a timely fashion;

– Ensure that all equipment and specialized vehicles are being maintained correctly and used safely and efficiently;

Skills

6+ years’ experience on a similar role as well as:

– A Bachelor’s Degree;

– Strong IT Skills particularly in MS Office, in PowerPoint, Project Management, and other information management software;

– Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in handling short notice requirements as well as working shifts including Nights;

– Strong interpersonal skills;

– Excellent understanding of financial reports including composition and analysis of budgets;

– Strong communication and presentation skills;

– Strong planning and organisation skills;

Manager – Rostering and Training

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

– Lead the complete overview of staffing operations and training team within Transport, Traffic & Parking (TTP);

– Develop and coordinate the staffing operations strategy for one of the largest department during pre-event and event-time;

– Design TTP staff journey (check in, briefing, equipment distribution, deployment, breaks, meal times, rotation, redeployment and check out times) per staff category – FTE, contractors and volunteers;

Skills

6+ years of relevant experience as well as:

– A Bachelor’s Degree;

– Specific experience in programme planning and management

– Proven ability to deliver on the ground operations, and written reports;

– This position requires a person that has already participated for more than 18 months in two or more major events;

– Rostering and training experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation, MENA region desirable;

– Experience in working with Government partners and stakeholders.

Senior Associate – Delivery Planning & Integration (People)

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

– One single point of contact for HR, Workforce, Training etc. for EOP (Event Operations);

– Is the main custodian for the Department’s Manpower Plan, ensuring it remains up to date and accurate;

– Drives all recruitment related activities across the Department in a consistent way, mitigating and/or escalating risks & issues when required;

Skills

2+ years’ Project Management experience, as well as:

– A Bachelor’s degree;

– Demonstrated ability to deliver training programs at all levels including Leadership training to Director Level;

– Strong facilitation skills, with training qualification (e.g. MTA/Lego Business etc.);

– Experience in mega events;

– Experience in Human Resource and/or Training.

Senior Manager, Media Asset Management

Main responsibilities of the role include:

– Be responsible for the overall strategy, implementation and workflow of the Media Asset Management system (Expo 2020 MAM) supplier;
– Assign appropriate metadata to digital assets to ensure accurate usage;
– Manage the Expo 2020 MAM and facilitate the uploading of assets as well as maintaining the system;
– Maintain the storage and efficient cataloguing of all assets on the Expo 2020 MAM;

Skills

8+ years experience in a similar field as well as:

– Demonstrable experience in managing Media Asset Management Systems (MAM) across multiple broadcast and media formats;
– Strong project management capabilities;
– Demonstrable experience in Broadcast Operations;
– Working knowledge and proven experience in managing digital assets from storage, filing and distribution and tracking use;
– Experience in delivering high quality services to clients;
– Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, whilst ensuring quality of output;

Manager, Workforce Planning

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

– Responsible for the implementation of headcount planning to ensure the right number of people captured within each department and functional area;

– Support and take a lead role in the implementation of workforce planning exercises, including continual review and exploitation of headcount data for paid staff, volunteers and contractors;

– Act as a Workforce Planning Business Partner by providing expert advice and best practices to the organization, as well as mediate discussions between various stakeholders including senior management;

Skills

6+ years’ experience in a similar role as well as:

– A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field;

– Experience in engaging with higher management;

– Negotiation Skills;

– Advanced MS office in particularly Excel.

Manager – Guest Accreditation Services

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

– Develop and implement the planning of the Accreditation business process for all Expo 2020 a set of accredited Guest Groups;

– Engage with Accreditation stakeholders in order to implement a fit for purpose Accreditation process;

– Engage with all Accredited Guest Groups to guide them through the Accreditation process;

Skills

6+ years’ experience in Accreditation for international events or a large complex visitor experience event, as well as:

– A Bachelor’s degree;

– Experience in engagement and relationship management with relevant guest groups, government entities and commercial partner representatives;

– Experience of working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project based environment with emphasis on timelines and delivery of projects on-time and on-budget;

– Experience managing an effective team;

– Flexible attitude and being able to adapt to rapid change;

Senior Manager – Crowd Management

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

– Programme planning through to Event delivery for the Guest Services related Crowd Management and Evacuation;

– Influence the master plan site design to benefit the Guest experience, working closely with the Real Estate team to ensure crowd modelling has been fully incorporated from the Transport hubs, last mile and key crowd touch points;

– Work closely with Venue Operation, Accreditation, Ticketing, Security, Transport, and Entertainment to ensure the Operational Plan is aligned and well-coordinated;

Skills

8+ years’ experience in a similar role  related to developing Guest Services, as well as:

– A Bachelor’s degree;

– Major event safety qualifications to plan for a complex operation such as Expo 2020;

– Programme/project manager experience leading complex projects;

– Knowledge across all key event operational functions, understanding the Guest Services dependencies with the other operational functions and non-operational directorates;

– Experience in working in a multi-cultural organization, GCC region desirable;
