WATCH: Video of elephant cleaning up trash resurfaces on social media

In life, you will get to meet different kinds of individuals with varying degrees of character who you can probably gauge depending on several factors, including cleanliness.

…and then there’s this elephant.

Footage taken from a CCTV taken December 9, 2014 of an elephant cleaning up cans and placing them in trash bins resurfaced on social media 5 years after it was initially uploaded.

Gathering over 14 million views and over hundreds of thousands of shares, likes, and comments on Facebook alone, the simple, yet intriguing video of the elephant’s instinct to clean up after the mess that the humans made has captured the attention of the masses from all over the world.

The video reuploaded by Apollo Prado was watermarked with ‘Russell MacLaughlin‘ one of National Geographic’s wildlife filmmakers. Here was his original tweet back in 2014 with the link to the original video posted on Youtube.

The video might have been shot years ago but it still sends a clear message: if animals can practice cleanliness out of instinct – so should humans!
