Bela Padilla raises P3M for ambulant vendors affected by community quarantine in Metro Manila

Actress Bela Padilla has successfully raised more than Php 3 million in her bid to help ambulant vendors affected by the enhanced community quarantine implemented in Luzon due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Padilla set-up a GoFundMe page entitled “Pagkain para sa Pinoy”.
“Our favorite taho, dirty ice cream and banana cue vendors won’t be able to secure enough money to guarantee food for their families at the end of the day for one month until our community quarantine is over. Let’s lookout for them please and donate what we can and let’s split the money we raise 16 ways for the 16 cities of Metro Manila affected by this temporary lockdown,” she said.
As of this posting, the page has garnered a total of P3,370,536, higher than her initial target of Php1 million.
Padilla announced through Twitter that an anonymous donor gave 1 million pesos to her fundraiser.
“I was just woken up by a call. Somebody donated 2 million pesos. We are now at 3.3M pesos,” she wrote in her tweet.
