The singer behind the global hits ‘Chandelier’ and ‘Titanium’ has revealed that she is suffering from a neurological disease.
In a tweet on Friday, Sia said that she is experiencing chronic pain due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
“I just wanted to say to those of you suffering from pain, whether physical or emotional, I love you, keep going,” Sia tweeted.
“Pain is demoralizing, and you’re not alone,” she added.
The National Institute of Health’s Library of Medicine defines Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a group of neurological disorders that affects connective tissues that support the skin, bones, blood vessels and other organs and tissues.
Many people with the condition have soft, fragile skin and bruise and scar easily. There’s no cure for EDS, but the symptoms can often be treated and managed.
The medical journal also said that there are 13 types of the neurological condition as of 2017.
It affects 1 in 5,000 people worldwide.
