WATCH: Arnel Pineda’s son auditions for ‘Idol Philippines’

The son of international rock star Arnel Pineda, Angelo, has decided to go and make a name for himself as a singer by auditioning for ABS-CBN’s singing competition “Idol Philippines”.

When asked why he wanted to join the competition, Angelo said he wanted to make his parents, especially his father, proud of him.

He then went on to sing a cover of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven” but the judges were left torn by his performance.

The show’s judges all agree that he has a beautiful singing voice but it comes across as mediocre and they are wondering what will make him stand out in the competition.

Judge Vice Ganda then gave Angelo a second chance by giving him 10 seconds to sing again and win him over.

Vice Ganda however was left unimpressed when Angelo decided to sing the same song, which caused the former to give him a “no”.

Nevertheless, Angelo was able to move onto the next round after the three other judges, Moira dela Torre, Regine Velasquez, and James Reid, all said yes to him.

It was at this moment when it was revealed that Arnel is Angelo’s father.

Angelo was asked to call his father to deliver the good news and it was revealed that Arnel was the one in the other line.

During the call, Arnel congratulated his son for moving onto the next round of the competition.
