“Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 2 winner Marcelito Pomoy appeared on the famous US talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” wherein he shared his talent and story of his humble beginnings.

In the said show, Pomoy recalled how he was able to become a famous singer in the Philippines: He started singing at the age of 7 and further discovered that he can switch his voice and sing in a higher range when he was 18.

Pomoy said that he was initially hesitant to join “Pilipinas Got Talent”, the show where he got discovered, at first since he did not believe in his talent.

However, he decided to join the contest hoping that appearing on television will help him meet his family.

Aside from his story, Pomoy also performed on the said show and sang two Celine Dion duet songs, namely “The Prayer” and “Beauty and the Beast”.

The show’s host Ellen DeGeneres was also impressed with Pomoy’s talent.

“You are not gonna believe this voice. He’s his own duet,” DeGeneres wrote on Twitter.

A former “balut” vendor and pin boy, Pomoy gained his popularity for his “doble kara” act which shows off his ability to sing in both tenor and soprano vocal ranges.

Since he won the competition, he has released two studio albums and has become a part of ABS-CBN’s weekly variety show ASAP. He has also done many local and international shows.
