Coco Martin thanks Joey De Leon for helping him back then

Before he became one of the biggest names in the show business, Coco Martin had his fair share of struggles in making it to the industry.

Recently, he thanked “Eat Bulaga” host Joey de Leon for being one of the persons who helped him get to where he is now.

Last Sunday, October 14, de Leon decided to post a video on Instagram in celebration of his 72nd birthday.

Many netizens greeted the veteran comedian and TV host for his birthday, one of which is Martin who took a trip down memory lane and recalled how de Leon helped him when he was still a newbie in showbiz.

‘Teka Mona’ is a now-defunct comedy skit show aired on TV5 from 2006 to 2007.

Martin said that he would like to meet de Leon one day to thank him personally. Idolo po kita!” the “Ang Probindyano” star added.

De Leon replied to Martin’s message and birthday greeting by saying, “Salamat! I’m proud of you! Stay humble”.
