Beauty pageant fans all over the world can no longer wait for this year’s Miss Universe pageant wherein around 90 candidates from all over the world are expected to compete for the highly coveted crown.

The good news is that fans no longer need to wait that long as the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) announced on July 31 that the most beautiful day in the universe will take place on December 16, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.

MUO posted on their website and social media accounts that the Miss Universe pageant will return to Thailand after 13 years. The Southeast Asian country formerly hosted the pageant in 1992 and 2015.

According to Sash Factor, the venue for the anticipated coronation night will take place at the Impact Arena.

The country’s representative Catriona Gray expressed her excitement through an Instagram post following the said announcement.

“Sawasdee Ka Thailand! So excited that the rumors are true and that it’s finally official! Miss Universe to be held in Thailand, December 2018. So excited to go back to one of my favorite travel destinations!” Gray wrote on Instagram.

Gray further expressed her anticipation in an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Marfori.

“I would be happy if it was kasi malapit lang,” Gray said regarding the MUO’s choice of Thailand as the host country. “Mga Pinoys don’t need a visa [to go there] so ang saya-saya,” she added.

American host Steve Harvey also announced on his Twitter account that he will be returning as this year’s host for the fourth time.
