Actor Joross Gamboa has clarified why he congratulated John Lloyd Cruz after fans started to speculate that it was a confirmation that Cruz is about to become a father.
It can be recalled that in an interview a month ago, Gamboa gave the actor his best wishes and welcomed Cruz ”to the club”.
However, during the grand press launch of his Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Deadma Walking”, Gamboa has decided to set the record straight.
“Oo kino-congratulate ko siya,” Gamboa said. “Actually, ako binase ko lang sa lahat ng ano [rumors]. Wala akong direct confirmation sa kanya, pero kung ‘yun man talaga, kino-congratulate ko siya.”
He said that his message was a “generic” way of giving the actor a pat on his back for all the positive things happening in his life.
“Generic ang pag congratulate ko kasi gusto ko muna alamin lahat” Gamboa explained. “Generic pa lang kasi alam ko. Wala pang confirmation galing sa kanya. Wala, hindi pa kami nakakapag-usap.”
But he believes that, whether rumors are true or not, Cruz has the making of a good father.
“Handa na siya, oo naman,” he said. “Matured si Lloydie na tao. Stable na siya sa buhay niya. It’s time for him na magkaroon na ng sariling pamilya.”
Cruz and Ellen Adarna neither confirmed nor denied rumors about the latter’s pregnancy. But fans are speculating that Adarna’s endorsement deals are the reason why no one has confirmed the rumors yet.
Even Lolit Solis, a well-known entertainment reporter, has posted on her Instagram account that the celebrity couple was spotted at St. Luke’s Hospital for a “prenatal check-up”.
