The Philippine Embassy and the POLO-OWWA in collaboration with Medeor 24 x 7 International Hospital at Al Ain and several Filipino community organizations hosted a one-day outreach program for the Filipinos living within the area to help them with their paperwork on labor and consular requirements.
In attendance was Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana, Labor Attache Atty. Alejandro Padaen, together with Filipino community leaders and Medeor 24 x 7 hospital management who gave screenings, talks on Diabetes to generate awareness as part of the Diabetes Care Awareness Month. Over 600 Filipinos and other expats joined and benefited from the whole day event.
Government services rendered during the program included Contract Verifications, Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) Processing, Labor Counselling, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration membership processing, Post Arrival Orientation, Social Security System (SSS) and Pagtutulungan sa Kinabukasan: Ikaw, Banko, Industriya at Gobyerno (PAG-IBIG) processing, as well as Consular and ATN Consultation.
Participating community groups include: Filipino Community Al Ain (FilCom- Al Ain), Filipino Institute – Al Ain (F.I.), Filipino Nurses Association in Emirates – Al Ain (F.N.A.E – Al Ain), Philippine Guardians Brotherhood International Maharlikans Incorporated- Vulture Chapter – Al Ain (P.G.B.I), Filipino International Teachers’ Society – Al Ain ,Samahang Zambalenyo UAE Al Ain (S.Z.U.A.E.), Guardians International Legion of Advocates Inc. – Al Ain (G.I.L.A.S. Inc.) , RAM Guardians Inc. – Al Ain (RGI Alakdan), Philippine Guardians Centennial Force Inc. – Al Ain (P.G.C.F.I. Knights), Makabansang Unifikasyon ng Guardians Dragon Forces Guardians International – Al Ain (M.D.F.G.I.), C.I.A.I.S.I – Samahang Ilocano – Al Ain, and the United Caregivers of the Philippines – Al Ain.
