Each child strives to study hard no matter what circumstances they undergo as they look forward towards a brighter tomorrow. As they study day to day, a number of struggles come along their way but it’s their persistence and drive to learn that gives their parents and their guardians hope and joy as each student paves their own path to success.
Among these young trailblazers are the kids from Upper Sirib Elementary School at Calinan District at Davao City, where visitors will immediately discover how the students and teachers fuse the elements of learning and fun together.
There’s no better time to reward these children than during the season of giving – Christmas! As the festive season is in the air, Dan on the Go, host of TFT Lifestyle TV, together with New City Commercial Corporation (NCCC) Cares spearheaded the construction of a multi-purpose room.
With the increasing number of students at the school, some students find it hard and some of them just squeeze in to their classrooms just to continue on with their studies. NCCC Cares Program Administrator Joan Dela Peña, Program Administrator at NCCC Cares shared that it’s the students’ passion to continue learning that moved their hearts to support the cause.
NCCC Cares provided the construction materials and labor for the ongoing construction of the hall.
Parents and Teachers extend words of gratitude
Pancracio Cloma, PTA President at Upper Sirib Elementary School was also grateful for the initiative as he said that Upper Sirib being selected as a beneficiary was a heartwarming gesture.
Judelene Ibacitas, a teacher at the elementary school looks forward on how the hall would help students become more motivated to learn: “Makakatulong yung proyekto sa kanilang pag aaral nagagawin yung magiging reading center ng mga bata na kung saan, during their vacant or free time, maaari silang pumunta dito sa reading center, magbasa ng aklat at mag research.”
Upper Sirib Elementary School Master Teacher II Elena Rosaroso, Master Teacher II lauds the initiative as she’s positive that it will have a huge impact when the construction is complete: “Ang proyektong ito ay talagang malaki ang naitulong lalo na dito sa lugar na ito.
The multi-purpose room is slated to finish with its construction by early 2019.
