WATCH: Viral video of ‘complaining’ student receives mixed reactions

A short film created by filmmaker Darryl Yap showing a young Filipino student complaining to her teacher is making the rounds on Facebook.

Yap used the typical school setting as his creative inspiration and created a satiric video of a student who can no longer handle the overwhelming pile of work she has to do.

“Para sa Gurong tinuruan kang maging malakas at matibay; pinapahiya ka tuwing bumabagsak ka sa pagsusulit pero hindi mo naman siya pinahiya kahit hindi pa siya pumapasa sa board exam,” the caption of the video, which was uploaded on the Facebook page VinCentiments, read.

The film, titled “KPL” which means “Kung Pwede Lang”, shows a young female student aggressively defending herself after her teacher reprimanded her for not finishing her school works. She went on to say that she is not a machine that is why she can only do one thing at a time.

The student also criticized her teacher for making them do things that are in no way relevant to their class.

Towards the end, it was revealed that everything that happened was just part of the student’s imagination. The video concluded with the student apologizing to her teacher for not doing her work.

The video caught the attention of Filipino netizens who were able to relate to it. As of press time, the video currently has over 12 million views on Facebook.

Warning: The video contains profanity

However, there were some netizens, especially the professional teachers, who did not like the video even though it was intended to be funny. There were many teachers who claimed that the video is a form of disrespect to their profession.
