Senator Nancy Binay is challenging Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson to explain federalism to senators.
On Wednesday, Binay said they would want to hear how Uson would explain ‘the salient points of the proposed federal charter,’ reported Philstar
This came after the consultative commission tasked to review the Constitution said it may ask Uson to lead the campaign drive on federalism.
The senator said she would recommend Uson as a resource person in the Senate hearings on charter change.
In addition to this, Binay implied that the Uson should also have clarity and knowledge to provide people an informed choice of what is good and bad about changing the form of the government.
Binay stressed that as a designated messenger, Uson should first show the senators how she would articulate or interpret the proposed federal charter and explain to the people how it could move the country forward.
It could also be recalled last year Binay and Uson butted heads after the senator asked the assistant secretary to choose between being a blogger or a government official.
