Dionesia “Mommy D” Pacquiao caught the attention of netizens once again after a video of her watching her son Manny Pacquiao’s boxing match went viral online.
Yesterday, July 15, Pacquiao snatched a TKO win over his Argentine opponent Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Filipinos all over the world watched as Pacquiao showed his classic punches and jabs knocking down Matthysse for the third time in the seventh round of the match.
And one of those who got caught in the hype of Pacman’s fight is none other than his own mother.
In a video uploaded by Facebook user Mustapha Alauya, Mommy D is seen praying and mumbling some words while clutching a small prayer book and rosary. The mother of the People’s Champ can’t sit still on her chair as she also throws punches in the air like his son Manny.
Towards the end of the video, Mommy D walked away from her chair to kneel on the floor and continued praying.
“Lakas ng Chakra ni Mommy D!” Alauya jokingly captioned the video.
As of this writing, Mommy D’s video has received more than 6.3 million views and more than 142,000 shares on Facebook.
Mommy D first caught the attention of netizens because of her anusual ringside antics during his son’s fight with American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr.
She said in past interviews that she wasn’t cursing or bewitching Pacquiao’s opponent back then, and that she was only praying for her son.
