Another Filipino has proven that the Philippines is definitely a powerhouse when it comes to the world of pageantry.
Mark Andrew Baron, also known as Baron Andrews, was crowned as Mr. Star Model Universe 2018 which took place in Peru on Monday (Manila time).
The 24-year-old model and teacher took it to Facebook to express the joy and sense of fulfillment he felt after winning in the pageant.
“The discipline, the favorite food that I tried hard to ignore, lahat ito, sa pahintulot ng Diyos Ama, nakamit ko na maging kauna-unahang Mr. Star Model Universe 2018,” he said.
He also thanked the people who helped and supported him throughout the course of the competition.
The male candidates from Peru and Mexico were named as runners-up.
This isn’t the first time Andrews joined an international male pageant. He previously represented the Philippines during the Mr. Real Universe 2015 in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Andrews graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education Major in Social Studies. He currently works as a teacher at San Rafael Technological and Vocational High School in Navotas.
