May 19 — a day that made a mark in the history of the British Royal Family.
On that day, wedding bells rang for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and millions of people from all over the world witnessed the historic event.
The public has followed their love story, from the time they were introduced to one another by designer Misha Nonoo, to their engagement, up until the last hours leading up to their wedding.
And as expected in any other wedding, the bride was the lady of the hour and everyone wasn’t able to stop talking about Meghan and what she would look like.
Just like when Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, got married to Prince William in 2011, there were no specific details about Meghan Markle’s wedding dress until she walked out of her bridal car and everyone was able to see what she was wearing.
The Duchess of Sussex wore a dress designed by Clare Waight Keller for the French fashion brand Givenchy.

The dress, which featured a wide boatneck neckline, long sleeves and train, is a bit simple compared to Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen gown and Princess Diana’s wedding dress designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel. Nevertheless, it was able to capture Markle’s beauty and elegance.
The Duchess of Sussex paired her gown with a sweeping silk tulle veil 16 feet long, Queen Mary’s diamond and platinum bandeau tiara, and a lone bracelet.
Daniel Martin and Serge Normant did Meghan’s fresh and radiant makeup and full hair bun, respectively.

After the ceremony, Meghan had a wardrobe change for the reception.
Page Six quoted British bridal designer Caroline Castigliano, who said that Stella McCartney would most likely create Meghan’s dress as the former would be a “perfect fit for the bride-to-be’s style”.
Even though Meghan wore Givenchy during the ceremony, the Duchess of Sussex changed into a white silk dress designed by Stella McCartney.
She paired the dress with satin Aquazzura pumps with baby blue soles.
Stella McCartney was also the one who designed Meghan’s dress during her engagement photo shoot.
