Ethel Booba and Ruffa Mae Quinto sat down with Vice Ganda for a tell-all interview last March 4, making the audience burst into laughter.
Ethel is also famous online for her witty tweets that indirectly takes jabs at certain issues. She is also a best-selling author of the book titled “#Charotism” which is filled with her straightforward opinions on social matters.
Vice Ganda then decided to put Ethel to the test and asked her opinions on certain issues, like the proliferation of fake news on social media.
“‘Yang mga fake news talaga, kilala ko kayo,” Ethel answered which spurred laughter from the audience.
When Vice Ganda asked her who are the people who proliferate fake news, Ethel confidently replied, “starts with the letter M”.
But before the interview becomes controversial, Ethel said that the name of the person she is referring to “ends with the letter C”.
The comedian jokingly said that she was referring to a certain “Mr. C”, owner of a comedy bar where she works.
Vice Ganda further asked Ethel on what piece of advice can she give to people who believe in fake news. She said: “Actually, libre ang Google. Samantalahin ninyo. Ganon.”
When everyone thought Ethel would be serious about the issue, she then threw another punchline.
“Hindi naman ‘yan i-a-approve ng PAMET [Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, Inc.] bago pumasok sa Google, di ba?”
After Ethel, Vice Ganda asked the same question to her other guest, Ruffa Mae.
“It is so unreal, and so surreal, yes,” Ruffa Mae said.
To end the interview, Vice Ganda asked his two guests about the biggest contribution of the Philippines to the world.
In another comic response, Ruffa Mae answered: “Na-ambag ng Philippines? It’s our island. The tropical islands of the Philippines is what we have, right? I think that Buko Juice is our biggest contribution. You know, the coconut? Marami tayong ganon.”
