Angel Locsin has officially passed Darna’s stone to Liza Soberano, but less is known about who will play the iconic role of “Valentina”.
Despite being the main villain in the story, the character has solidified a fandom because of two reasons—its resemblance with Medusa and how celebrities gave testament to the character’s fierceness.
While there has been no solid rumors on who will be the next Valentina, Anne Curtis is rumored to play the role iin the 2018 remake of Darna.
For now, here are some of the actresses that left mark as Darna’s greatest enemy.
Pilita Corrales – Darna, Ang Pagbabalik (1994)

Pilita Corrales did not just rock the stage with his jukebox hits, she also nailed the fight scenes with Anjanette Abayari, who starred as Darna: The Return movie. Corrales embodies Valentina’s dodgy fighting skills as fierce as the snakes on his head.
Alessandra De Rossi – Darna series (2005)

Compared to other Valentinas, Alessandra de Rossi did not portray a villain with multiple snakeheads. But even without slimy snakes, Alessandra’s serpent costume supplemented her natural fierceness. Her fight scenes with Angel Locsin made viewers question whether they are watching a fistfight or modeling showdown.
Iwa Motto – Darna series (2009)

In the most recent Darna remake, Valentina, played by Iwa Moto, controlled Eduardo and forced him to love her. This may sound crazy, but this is not impossible, especially if such grace and fierceness lured the victim.
