Malacañang clarified that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s planned stay in Ilocos Norte during Holy Week is not a vacation, emphasizing that he will continue to perform his duties.
The president said he will spend a few days in his home province before returning to Manila by the weekend.
Palace officials stressed that Marcos will remain actively engaged in governance, monitoring developments and issuing directives to government agencies despite being outside the capital.
The president also encouraged Filipinos to observe Holy Week as a time for reflection and renewal, highlighting the importance of faith, service, and unity.
Authorities said government operations will continue as usual throughout the holiday period.
