Robin Padilla to stop showbiz career after being elected as senator

Senator-elect Robin Padilla will no longer be doing showbiz projects for now as he gears up for his new role as a senator.

“Mahalaga sa akin magtrabaho na ako para pagtuunan ang mga reporma sa batas,“ Padilla said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Padilla said that his last project will be a film about Marawi before his official duties as senator begin.

The movie project started in 2018 but was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hindi pwedeng di matuloy yun kasi marami nabitin dun, nag pandemya, nag-umpisa pa kampanya kaya di agad pwedeng gawin. Kailangang gawin yon kasi history natin yon,” Padilla said.

Padilla clarified the issue about his wife Mariel Rodriguez flying out to Spain and missing his proclamation. He was accompanied by his brothers in the event instead.

“Plano namin ni Mariel magbakasyon talaga e nag number 1 tayo so sabi ko I have to do my homework.

Padilla is still in disbelief that he was number one in the official tally of votes for the senatorial race.

Napakalaking responsibilidad na magsilbi sa bayan,” he said.
