Dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) may receive up to P60,000 (Dh4,416) educational assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
OWWA has opened applications for its Education for Development Scholarship Program (ESDP) for the upcoming school year.
Dependents of active OWWA members who already enrolled or are set to enroll in any four-year or five-year degree may apply for the scholarship program.
Applicants will undergo an assessment, which will be facilitated by the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute in October.
At least 1,000 OFW dependents may benefit from ESDP after OWWA amended its provision to increase the number of scholarship grants from 200 in 2016.
OWWA will accept applications for ESDP until July 31.
