Duterte asks Filipinos to pray amid Ukraine-Russia conflict

President Rodrigo Duterte has asked Filipinos to pray amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Duterte hopes that it will not lead to a nuclear war.

“May ibang Pilipino magsabi that I am too tame, ano ba gusto ninyo gyerahin natin ‘to? Mapupulbos tayong lahat,”Duterte said in a speech during the inauguration of Fabella Hospital.

“And even this ruckus in Ukraine magdasal lang tayo na it will not generate into something like a nuclear warfare tapos tayo, tapos tayong lahat. Pag mag-nuclear tatamaan talaga tayo kasi nandito yung Amerikano hindi talaga umalis yan sa Clark pati sa Subic,” Duterte said.

Duterte even warned that China might attack Philippines and Taiwan should the war in Ukraine escalate further.

“Pagmaggiyera tatamaan talaga tayo because we do not know and we will never know if there are nuclear armaments that brought them these dangerous armaments of war. Yan ang keep that in mind kasi delikado talaga ito,” he added.

Duterte also warned about a possible Chinese invasion following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
