The field hospital at the Dubai World Trade Center on Tuesday has closed as it bid farewell to last coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID) patient, a Japanese national.
The patient, Hiroaki Fujita, received a warm applause from the doctors and nurses of the hospital
As he leaves the hospital after testing negative for COVID-19, he told reporters, “Feeling very good that I am about to go out.”
“I ask everyone to take a more safer way,” he added.

The field hospital was set up during the onset of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, in preparation to augment the capacity of health centers that would handle COVID-19 patients.
This development adds to the list of dozens of hospitals across the country which had been declared free from coronavirus patients.
In Dubai, a hospital can be declared COVID-19 free once the last of moderate-to-critical patients in intensive care units have been discharged. The Dubai Health Authority issues the COVID–free certification, according to Reuters report.
