Malacañang on Tuesday announced that the restriction on non-essential travel by Filipinos has been lifted.
In an online press briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said all non-essential outbound travel of Filipino citizens has been approved by the government’s COVID-19 task force on Monday.
“Lahat ng travel restriction kaugnay ng mga outbound travel ng mga Pilipino ay inalis na rin po,” he said.
He clarified that the task force will outline the requirements for outbound travels of Filipinos.
Roque said these include showing of confirmed roundtrip tickets for passengers with tourist visas, in addition to travel health insurance.
A traveler must also execute a declaration acknowledging the risks involved in traveling.
For returning Filipinos in the country, the mandatory COVID-19 guidelines including Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing and quarantine in are still in place.
