The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) stressed the need for all residents to wear masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.
MoHAP spokesperson Dr. Farida Al Hosani suggested that in the absence of medical masks, individuals can also opt for masks made out of cloth as it can be reused for a longer time, according to a report from Emarat Al Youm.

However she stressed two following pointers for the public when using cloth masks:
– Cloth masks should be washed at the end of the day
– Cloth masks should never be shared with others
Dr. Al Hosani also said that wearing these masks will help prevent infection as cases in the UAE continue to rise, which is now at 1,505 as of press time.

She also strictly stated that medical masks with one-time usage should never be reused.
Dubai authorities has enforced a 24-hour sterilization drive with increased movement resitrictions for the public, that started last April 4 at 8:00 pm.
