There are now 52 people who died in Italy because of the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a report by The Guardian quoting the civil protection agency, it said that the number of confirmed cases has also risen to 1,835.
Among those who tested positive was a councilor from the Lombardy region, where there were reportedly 1,000 cases there.

More than half of Italy’s 20 regions have reported cases. The latest of which was in Molise and on the island of Sardinia.
Meanwhile, there have been 149 people that reportedly recovered from the virus.
However, there are still 742 people admitted in the hospital and 166 are in intensive care.
Authorities have already advised those aged 65 and over to stay at home for the next two weeks as the country tries to contain the infection.

Meanwhile, Rome has already reported its first confirmed cases involving a firefighter and a police officer.
The police officer’s wife, two children, and sister-in-law were also infected.
