China reports 16,155 patients recovered from COVID-19

China’s National Health Commission (NHC) reported Thursday a total of 16,155 infected patients recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The report came out as the number of infected patients significantly dropped for 16 consecutive days outside Hubei, the epicenter of the COVID-19 epidemic.
The patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the disease, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
NHC reported 1,779 patients were discharged on February 19 while the number of severe cases dropped to 11,864.
The commission said 589,163 close contacts had been traced, 25,318 of which were discharged from medical observation on Wednesday, with 126,363 others still under medical observation.
