DOT releases statement on temporary travel ban on China

The Department of Tourism (DOT) said Sunday that they are closely coordinating with the travel sector to ensure the full implementation of temporary travel ban of any nationality coming from China.
In a statement, DOT immediately advised its offices in China to relay to all stakeholders involved in importing products on the latest directive of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The temporary ban covers all nationalities, except Filipino citizens and holders of Permanent Residency Visa issued by the Philippine government.
The Filipinos and Resident Visa Holders, however, are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine coming from China and its Special Administrative Regions.
The agency added that they already released the Guidelines in Handling Guests in Tourism Enterprises in the advent of 2019-nCoV ARD Global Health Emergency
DOT stressed they are closely coordinating with concerned government agencies in implementing preventive measures to ensure the safety of Filipinos and foreign tourists amid the spread of the novel coronavirus.
