The Department of Health has confirmed Thursday the country’s first case of the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that a 38 year-old woman from Wuhan, China was the first confirmed case of the deadly virus.
The DOH said that they are now conducting contact tracing and has now been in coordination with Region 7 health department.
The patient has a travel history to Cebu and Dumaguete.
Duque said that there are now 29 persons under investigation of suspected coronavirus cases.
