Sri Lanka confirms first case of novel coronavirus

Sri Lanka confirmed Monday its first case of the deadly novel coronavirus.
The patient was identified as a Chinese woman who arrived in the island nation on January 19 as tourist, Reuters reported.
The patient was admitted to Infectious Disease Hospital on Saturday due to fever.
Confirmatory test revealed she tested positive for the deadly virus, according to Sudath Samaraweera, chief epidemiologist of Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry.
The novel coronavirus has killed 106 and infected at least 4,193 people in mainland China.
