Over 300 Filipino and Emirati volunteers on Saturday responded to the call of the Emirates Red Crescent and the Philippine Embassy in UAE to help in the relief efforts for the victims of the Taal volcano eruption.
The campaign titled #UAEforPhilippines is the result of the January 20 meeting between the ERC and the Philippine Embassy as a response to the message of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander for the UAE Armed Forces, that the UAE will stand in solidarity with the displaced families due to the volcano unrest.
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Her Excellency Hjayceelyn Quintana and ERC Manager Mohammed Abdullah Alhaj Al Zaroni helped the volunteers pack necessities including toiletries, dental care, hygiene packs, among other relief goods.
