Anti-crime legislator's car burglarized; Php200,000 stolen

Rep. Rowena “Niña” Taduran of the Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Partylist lost Php200,000 worth of belongings after a “Basag-Kotse’ gang burglarized her vehicle as it was parked on the third level parking area of a mall in Aurora Boulevard, Quezon City yesterday.

Police Maj. Bernardo Pascua told GMA News that Taduran’s child and driver were having a meal inside the mall while waiting for the lawmaker who joined President Rodrigo Duterte’s ceremonial signing of the 2020 national budget.
Taduran’s child saw the car’s window smashed upon their return.
The thieves stole a laptop issued by Congress, a cellphone, shoulder bag, jewelry, some Php8,000 in cash, two ATM cards, government-issued IDs and two cellphone chargers.
Taduran slammed the mall management for the lack of security and cameras in the area. The lawmaker was also thankful  no one was hurt in the incident.
She also reminded the public to remain vigilant from crooks who might attack anytime.
“Tayo po ay magingat sa lahat ng oras, sapagkat wala pong sinisino ang mga masasamang loob. Magmasid, magbantay at maging alisto sa lahat ng oras at sa lahat ng lugar,” Taduran said in her Facebook post.
