Pampanga-based Mekeni Food Corp. said it will trace the source of African Swine Fever (ASF) virus on their products.
“Despite this unfortunate development, we assure government that we will continue to cooperate in its ongoing investigation to determine the source of ASF,” the company said in a statement.
The company reiterated that it has always been compliant with the standards and regulations in the past 32 years of its operations.
They aslo said that all of their pork based products have been recalled and pulled out from the market.
A batch sampling has also been submitted to an independent laboratory for ASF testing.
It also said that the processing area for pork-based products has been disinfected. More tests will also be conducted before resuming operations.
