PDP-Laban now open to term sharing for house speakership

PDP-Laban President Koko Pimentel revealed that they are now open for the possibility of term sharing for house speakership provided that its candidate Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco will be the first one to assume the speakership post.

“To help settle the issue of House Speaker which has been dragging for a considerable period of time, the PDP-Laban which is the majority party is open to the idea of term-sharing, provided its nominee Lord Allan Velasco goes first since he already has an overwhelming number of members of Congress supporting him,” Pimentel said in a statement.

At least 200 lawmakers have pledged their support to Velasco’s bid.

Davao Representative and presidential son Paolo Duterte has expressed his intention to run as Speaker if the House of Representatives will not settle the matter.

Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago also endorsed a candidate for speaker Davao 3rd district representative Isidro Ungab.
