Wife, sister-in-law assaults husband, lands in court

The Sharjah Criminal Court heard the case of a couple accused of mutual assault as they had beaten up each other because of a dispute that happened at their home.

A quarrel between husband and wife took place last May 7, the date of the incident, that eventually led to slight injuries for both parties.

In his defense, the husband stated that his wife had been assisted by her sister when they assaulted him with no resistance from his side, claiming that he was hoping to solve some issues.

On the other hand, the wife who had one child said that she got attacked three times by her husband who had previously signed a pledge not to attack her again, and pointed out that he came home and was the one who started the assault.

Eventually, the two defendants denied charges against them, while the husband stated that he was willing to settle issues with his wife.

The court then postponed the case to August 7 to give both parties a chance for reconciliation.
