Following the abduction and rape case of a Filipina domestic worker in Kuwait upon her arrival at the airport last week, Senator-elect Bong Go renews his call for the creation of a Department of OFWs.

Go said in a statement.

The senator adds that it is about time to create a sole department addressing the concerns of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

“Kasama sa mga isinusulong ko ang pagtatag ng Department of OFWs para may isang ahensya ng gobyerno na nakatutok sa mga pangangailangan ng OFWs,” Go said.

The senator said together with President Rodrigo Duterte they will ensure that OFW rights will be protected.
