Former actor and Optical Media Board (OMB) chairman Ronnie Ricketts was found guilty of graft by the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan on Friday.
Ricketts was sentenced to 6 to 8 years in jail and he can no longer hold any position in public office.
Back in 2010, the Office of the Ombudsman filed a graft complaint against Ricketts after he mishandled confiscated pirated DVDs and VCDs, and returned them to Sky High Marketing Corporation.
Aside from Ricketts, OMB computer operator Glenn Perez was also found guilty.
Ricketts can appeal the court’s decision and will not be jailed until the decision is final and executory.
Ricketts and Perez were ordered to post additional bail bonds of P30,000 each.
