‘Black magic’ fuels Filipina in Dubai to fear for her safety

The Philippine Consulate in Dubai and Northern Emirates assisted a Filipina maid to be repatriated amid fears that her employer may be performing black magic against her.

According to a report of The National, the 37-year-old overseas Filipina worker (OFW) was cleaning the house of her employer in Jumeirah when she found “a box full of dolls, a book on black magic”.

What terrified the Filipina maid was when she discovered a photo of her and a metal triangle with inscriptions inside another box

The Filipina did not want to press charges against her employer. She, instead, sought the help of the Philippine Consulate to have her transferred to another employer or to have her return to the Philippines.

The Filipina was later repatriated back to the country through the assistance of the Consulate.

Philippine General Consul Paul Cortes called for distressed OFWs in the country to visit the Consulate for assistance in their repatriation.

Practicing sorcery is forbidden in the UAE and is punishable by jail sentence, fine, and/or deportation and banning from the country.
