OFWs in Abu Dhabi, Dubai among recipients of TESDA certification

Overseas Filipino workers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai were among those who received skills certification under Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) onsite assessment program (OAP).

TESDA’s records show that 2,475 OFWs have benefited from OAP with nearly 2,000 receiving a national certificate (NC) or certificate of competency (COC). Among these numbers are OFWs from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, reported PNA.

In August, more than 200 Abu Dhabi-based OFWs had their skills certified by TESDA in the fields of Caregiving, Massage Therapy, Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II and Trainer’s Methodology.

Statistics of TESDA assessments in Abu Dhabi shows the following results.

  • Caregiving: 135 certified out of 165 assessed
  • Massage Therapy: 24 certified out of 34 assessed
  • EIM: 72 certified out of 83 assessed
  • Trainer’s Methodology 1 for assessors: 7 certified out of 9 assessed

The OAP aims to enable OFWs to retain and improve their livelihood, whether as employees or as entrepreneurs, through TESDA certifications.

Aside from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, TESDA also conducts onsite assessments in Hong Kong, Singapore, Jeddah, and Riyadh.
