Mocha Uson goes solo in 2019 midterm elections; seeks OFWs support

After announcing her political run in the 2019 midterm elections, resigned presidential communications assistant secretary Mocha Uson said that she will be seeking the support of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who believe in her.

“Ako po, wala po talagang pondo. Sa social media lang po ako, yung suporta ng mga naniniwala po, sa kanilang mga kamag-anak, sa mga OFW. Social media lang po ako umaasa po,” Uson said.

Uson, known for her social media influence, currently has more than 5.7 million follower on her Facebook page “Mocha Uson Blog”.

Uson made the statement following Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III’s announcement of her exclusion in the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) senatorial slate.

When asked about Uson’s exclusion, Pimentel, who is the president of PDP-Laban, said that “it’s self explanatory.”

In response, Uson said she will run as an independent candidate.
