The Bureau of Immigration said on Monday that it barred a suspected member of the militant group ISIS from entering the Philippines.

Immigration Deputy Commissioner Mark Red Mariñas said that they prevented a certain Pakistani national identified as Naeem Hussain, 36, who arrived at the Clark International Airport last September 22, reported ABS-CBN.

Mariñas added that Hussain arrived in the Philippines onboard a flight from Dubai.

“He turned away because he is on our alert list of suspected international terrorist for being an alleged trainer of the Daesh,” ABS-CBN quoted Mariñas as saying.

However, Hussain denied that he is part of the said militant group saying that he has working as a digital designer for the last 16 years. He added that he is in the Philippines to visit his Filipino girlfriend who lives in Olongapo.

This is not the first time Hussain was blocked from entering the Philippines. He was also barred by the Immigration at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport when he came to the country last May.

The Immigration has sought the help of the military to monitor the possible entry of the Pakistani suspect since then.
