PAL earns 4-Star in APEX Expo, grants privilege to Pinoy soldiers

Philippine Airlines (PAL) landed an award during the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) exposition held in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday, September 23.

PAL received a 4-Star Major Regional Airline rating award from the New York-based passenger experience association.

“This new accolade comes with a fresh challenge: We should never rest on our laurels but must always remain focused on our primary role to provide a pleasant and comfortable travel experience for all our passengers, in the air and on the ground. Thus, this latest award as 4-Star major regional airline will inspire us to keep getting better and achieve more until we attain the coveted 5-star status as a prime player in global aviation,” PAL President Jaime Bautista said in a statement.

PAL previously bagged the 4-Star Global Airline certification from London-based Skytrax in February 2018 and a “2nd Most Improved Airline in the World” ranking from the Skytrax passenger survey released in June 2018.

“We’re humbled and thankful to share another milestone and another win with our loyal passengers all over the globe,” said the airlines in a statement.

The APEX award is based solely on the passenger’s feedback on PAL’s service in terms of seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The airlines also recently announced that it will give 20 percent discount to Filipino soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who will fly domestically.

PAL and AFP signed a Memorandum of Agreement on Wednesday, September 26, granting soldiers the discount on their base fare with free baggage allowance and free transport of firearms.
