VIRAL: Driver almost runs over MMDA enforcer and police in Recto

Viral on social media today is the video of driver refusing to pull her car over and causing heavy traffic for the vehicles behind her.

In a series of videos uploaded by Aila Celedio on her social media, a gray car is seen slowly moving forward even when a traffic enforcer is blocking its way.

Celedio said that the incident disappointed her because it caused hassle for commuters like her.

The driver also keeps honking at the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and a police officer who tried to stop her car from running along Recto Avenue.

It was not until two jeepneys sandwiched her car that she halted it. The reason why she was flagged down by the traffic enforcer is also unknown.

Meawhile, netizens are bashing the woman for her disrespect to authority.

“If this (expletive) were in the US, she would’ve gotten tasered by now. This would be considered as assaulting an officer,” read one comment.

“People need to respect the law! I suggest stiffer penalties for things like this.”

Other people also calling on the Land Transportation Office to have the driver’s license revoked.

“Dapat (sa) mga gantong klase ng tao, taggalan agad ng lisensya,” said one commenter.

“Dapat d’yan, patawan ng patong-patong na kaso at tanggalan ng pahintulot na makapmaneho ng sasakyan,” agreed a netizen.

These were echoed by other commenters who suggested that the driver should have been arrested on the spot.

The identity of the driver is still unknown as of press time.
