Court overturns charges against Asian nanny who allegedly raped child with autism

The Filipina maid in Dubai previously convicted of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy with autism and speech difficulties was cleared for lack of substantial evidence.

The Dubai Court of Appeal said the evidence used in the conviction of the 22-year-old Filipina maid was not “credible” and overturned the earlier three-year jail time and deportation given to the maid for the charges, reported The National.

The main evidence used against the Filipina was the testimony of an Ethiopian maid who works for the complainant who said that she saw the Filipina nanny take advantage of the boy several times when his mother was out of the country.

Meanwhile, the boy’s 43-year-old French mother said that the defendant worked for them as a nanny for about four months until she decided to terminate her due to bad behavior.

After the mother fired the Filipina and sent her back to the agency, she said that she noticed a change in the behavior of her son. The complainant said that her child suddenly started acting aggressively and would touch her inappropriately when she took him for shower.

The complainant added that she even took her son to special therapists to know the reason behind his sudden change of personality.
