Desert driving license launched in the UAE

Starting September 16, motorists may get their driving license for desert vehicles from the Sharjah Driving Institute.

The Sharjah Police announced on Instagram that the Sharjah Driving Institute will grant special “Sahrawi Desert Driving Permit” to authorize drivers to drive in desert terrain.

Colonel Ali Al-Bazud, Director of Licensing of Mechanics and Drivers, Chairman of the Saadat Dealers Center said that there are many tour operators that organize land trips UAE residents or tourists who want to enjoy the natural atmosphere of the desert of the Emirates.

معهد الشارقة للسياقة يعلن عن تطبيق اصدار تصريح قيادة صحراوية بالشارقة . انطلاقاً من حرصها على تطوير مستوى الخدمات المقدمة إلى الجمهور وإسعاد المتعاملين، وتحقيقاً للهدف الاستراتيجي لوزارة الداخلية الرامي إلى تعزيز رضا المتعاملين بالخدمات المقدمة، يعلن معهد الشارقة للسياقة، عن بدء تطبيق اصدار (تصريح قيادة صحراوية –سفاري) خاصة لشركات السياحة التي تعمل على تنظيم رحلات في البر والسفاري في امارة الشارقة، وذلك يوم الاحد 16-9-2018 بهدف تعزيز الامن والسلامة والحفاظ على أرواح الاسر والعائلات ممن يرتادون البر. وأشار العقيد علي بالزود مدير إدارة ترخيص الآليات والسائقين رئيس مركز إسعاد المتعاملين أن هناك العديد من شركات السياحة التي تعمل على تنظيم رحلات البر وسفاري للعائلات سواء المقيمة في الدولة أو السياح الراغبين في الاستمتاع بالأجواء الطبيعية الخلابة لصحراء الإمارات، مما يزيد نشاط شركات السياحة التي تعمل على تنظيم تلك الرحلات على شكل أفواج في مركبات عدة، تأخذ الزوار في رحلة قيادة مختلفة عبر الكثبان الرملية صعوداً وهبوطاً، مما يتطلب مهارة وحرفية عاليتين في مثل تلك الطرقات غير الممهدة، بل والخطرة أحياناً على من لا يتقن فن التعامل معها، أو يمتلك المركبة المناسبة. وأضاف العقيد علي بالزود أن معهد الشارقة للسياقة يمنح تصريح قيادة خاص لهؤلاء السائقين يطلق عليها «تصريح القيادة الصحراوية – السفاري»، وهي تخول حاملها قيادة المركبات السياحية البرية على الطرق غير المعبدة، خلال الرحلات التي تقوم بها شركات السياحة العاملة في الإمارة، بعد اجتياز برنامج قيادة خاص في المعهد، يتلقى من خلاله منهاجاً خاصاً للتدريب على القيادة يشمل التدريب بشقيه النظري والعملي في معهد الشارقة للسياقة في مثل تلك المناطق وبين الكثبان الرملية، وكيفية التعامل مع المركبة في حال علقت في الرمال، بطرق فنية وعلمية بحتة، يتخرج منها الشخص بعد الفترة المحددة من قبل المعهد بحسب مهارة كل سائق، ليحصل بعدها على رخصة القيادة. وأوضح مدير إدارة ترخيص الآليات والسائقين مدير مركز خدمات المرور أن دورات القيادة الصحراوية تتكون من مراحل تدريبية تشمل النظرية والعملية لتعلم فن القيادة في الصحراء من خلال قيادة السيارات الحديثة، ليتمكن المتدرب من اكتساب مهارات جديدة خاصة بخوض غمار الصحراء بمختلف أنواعها وتحدياتها، بطريقة احترافية ترتكز على فهم عميق لطبيعة الصحراء وتوقع كل المخاطر المحتملة حفاظاً على سلامة الارواح. مؤكداً أن القيادة العامة لشرطة الشارقة تحرص بشكل مستمر على تحقيق الريادة والتميز وفقاً لأعلى معايير الجودة

He added that the roads could sometimes be dangerous to those who do not mastered driving there or have an incompatible vehicle.

Before drivers can get the license, they will undergo theoretical and practical training, skills test and how to deal with situations like vehicles suspended in the sand.

The move was orchestrated by the Ministry of Interior to enhance the security and safety of tourists who want to experience desert trips.
